Positive airway pressure (PAP) is a mode of respiratory ventilation used in the treatment of sleep apnea. PAP devices are used by individuals at home, as well as in sleep laboratories and hospitals. There are different types of PAP devices, namely continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), Bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), and adjustable positive airway pressure (APAP).

The growing awareness about sleep apnea and the increasing attention in home-based healthcare settings after covid have driven the rising demand for positive airway pressure devices. However, the high economic burden is restraining the growth of the PAP devices market. While the cost of PAP devices is reimbursed by medical insurance in developed countries, e.g., US and UK, the conditions are different in emerging countries.

Beside well-known market players, i.e. RedMed, Philips, Fisher & Paykel, more new players are entering or expanding in this sector. In this post, we list 15 xPAP device providers from China. 11 of them were present at MEDICA this year. It shows their eagerness to expand internationally. The competition in PAP devices market will intensify in the coming years.
