MediFox Acquired by ResMed

On June 14, 2022, ResMed announced the acquisition of MediFox DAN for approximately $1 billion, a multiple of 12 on the company’s revenue of $83 million. The acquisition of MediFox, the German leader in out-of-hospital software, will help strengthen ResMed’s position as a global player in outpatient software solutions.

The very attractive financial profile of the acquisition target was a key argument. MediFox has an EBITDA margin of ~40%, recurring software revenue and a highly scalable business model. The company, headquartered in Hildesheim, Germany, serves over 8’000 customers and has over 600 employees. Moreover, it fits perfectly into ResMed’s outpatient care software ecosystem, along with Brightree and MatrixCare, creating synergy potential.

In Germany and abroad, demand for Care Management Software such as MediFox will continue to grow, due to an aging population, a shortage of skilled labor and increasing government support for digitalization initiatives.
