On June 6, 2022 Becton Dickinson has announced the acquisition of pharmacy workflow automation company Parata Systems for $1.525 billion. With this acquisition, Becton Dickinson offers the complete medication pouch packaging spectrum: central fill facilities, retail and hospital pharmacies and long term care facilities.
Moreover, the company can utilize synergies between Parata and the company’s own medication pouch packaging solution, BD Rowa Dose, to outpace the forecasted segment growth of 10% annually over 10 years.
Parata has a growing installed base across 700+ retail and hospital pharmacies in the U.S. Its pouch packaging solutions – JVM-produced machines branded as Parata PASS – have helped the company produce annual revenues of $220 million.
