Globally, there are more than 50 manufacturers of consumables for anesthesia, ventilation and xPAP. Most of these manufacturers produce circuits as part of standard offering for anesthesia and respiratory care.
Circuits are important consumables as anesthesia, ventilation and xPAP systems require air to be moved from the device to the patient. Depending on use case, the circuits can have different shapes of tubes, be non-heated or heated and be premium in quality and features or simple fit-to-purpose products.
Most of consumable manufacturers offer entry-level circuits like collapsible, corrugated, coaxial, etc. for which pricing plays the strongest differentiating role. Only few providers (Plastiflex, Aptyx / GlobalMed, Hi-Tech Medical) produce high-end smoothbore and spiral-winded heated circuits. With recent acquisitions, Plastiflex singles out as provider with the broadest circuit offering that set foot in all geographies (EU, US, Middle East and Asia).
