In our series of posts on ECLS (extracorporeal life support) devices, following Spectrum Medical, Recuscitec and Inspira, we have now examined ECMOLIFE by the Italian manufacturer Eurosets.
ECMOLIFE can provide both ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and MCS (mechanical circulatory support). It lowers the risks of hemolysis and blood stagnation, while its non-invasive sensor system allows the monitoring of 10 patient parameters.
ECMOLIFE is CE certified, TÜV SÜD certified and available across Europe and Asia. However, it has not yet been FDA-approved and is thus not available in the USA.
Eurosets is an Italian manufacturer of circulatory support equipment, founded in 1991 in the Italian biomedical cluster. Eurosets devices include ECMOLIFE, oxygenators, ECCO2R machine, patient monitors… The parent company, GVM Care & Research, is one of the largest Italian healthcare groups.
